New Zealand’s first American style IPA, released in 2008, has gone on to be New Zealand’s single most awarded beer. In recent years, it has won six back to back Best in Class trophies around the world including New Zealand, Australia and Sweden. Michael Donaldson, the two times winner of Beer Writer of the Year Award, named Armageddon the “#1 Greatest Beer in New Zealand.”

Epic Lager
It just tastes larger
Known as the entry level beer for the Epic range. Described as “easy drinking” by many, and not too much of a challenge for those accustomed to green bottle lagers. It’s a lager, but with an Epic twist –a twist that won a Gold medal at the Australian International Beer Awards in 2017. We have boosted the hop aroma and hop flavour so that it still offers a decent amount of interest for those that are craft curious; flavour without it being overwhelming and tasting like flowers.

It just tastes bigger
New Zealand’s first American style Pale Ale. Released in 2006, Epic Pale Ale won Supreme Champion Beer at the New Zealand International Beer Awards. Credited by many as the very first beer they tasted that got them into craft beer. Newly released in cans in 2020, this beer has withstood the test of time and continues to be one of Epic’s biggest sellers.

Ride the lightening
After nearly 10 years of people asking Epic to make an American Pale Ale (APA) we decided to appease the people. Inspired by our Sales Manager, Sten Thor Hansen, this beer was so popular it quickly made its way into the family of core beers. The flavour is driven by the subtropical fruits (including passionfruit & mango) from the Mosaic hops. The massive hop flavour is matched with a subtle level of bitterness.

We used an “Epic” amount of hops, as you would expect from us. We got the biggest, juiciest, stickiest Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops we could find. A blend of T90 and Cryo hops maximises the aroma and flavours. It’s like drizzling freshly squeezed passionfruit, mango and pineapple juice across your tongue. Low bitterness and maximum haze will keep every Hazy-Head happy.
