Fire Horse is this year’s release in our annual fresh hop series, brewed once a year at harvest when hops are at their absolute peak. Fresh Riwaka hops from Eggers Hop Farm in Nelson are picked at peak condition and moved straight from farm to brewery, brewed the same day while their oils and aromatics are at full intensity. This is a narrow seasonal window where everything lines up — freshness, timing, and proximity — capturing a level of hop character that simply can’t be replicated any other way.

Fresh Riwaka leads from the first aroma, bursting with ripe passionfruit and layered with bright lime, grapefruit, and flashes of lemon zest. Intensely aromatic and vividly fresh, the hop character is juicy, punchy, and unmistakably seasonal. Fire Horse is a snapshot of harvest — bold, fragrant, and alive — a beer that only exists for a moment each year.
